  2. Foyle Maritime Festival 2018 • £3.5 million into the local economy in 2016. • Anticipated audiences of up to 6,000 people per day. • Number of trading areas will be facilitated across the site. • Markets will be located on flat surfaces close to site services.

  3. Foyle Maritime Festival Festival will consist of 2 markets: 1) The Maritime Market • Managed by Derry City & Strabane District Council. • For individuals and businesses located within the DCSDC area or regular (existing or reserve) monthly Walled City and Strabane Market traders 2) The Foyle Merchant • Managed by Market Place Europe. • For individuals and businesses located outside the Derry City and Strabane District Council area

  4. TRADINGLICENCES Please note that in line with current legislation no trading can take place within a ten metre distance of a public footpath without a Street Trading Licence and that No Street Trading Licences will be issued for trading independently at the festival. Businesses must apply to one of the markets listed in order to trade at the festival.

  5. Trading Dates & Times All traders, without exception, will be expected to open every day of the operating period and for the whole of the opening times

  7. Maritime Market Following details relate to the Maritime Market ONLY. Our aim is to select a vibrant mix of traders to add to the festive theme of ‘Voyages’ and to enhance the shopping experience of visitors to the City. We want to attract traders who sell food and non-food goods not normally associated with more conventional retail / shopping outlets. There can be no sub-letting of space however applications are welcome from exhibitors who wish to share a trade stand with another trader. If this is the case, a joint application must be submitted.

  8. Maritime Market • Approximately 25 -30 trade locations. • Please ensure you have sufficient stock for the duration of the festival. All traders will be able to replenish stock between 6am and 11am daily. • You can only display and sell products listed in your trading application. Products on sale must comply with relevant legislation, be safe, food products must be within sell by date and be fit for purpose.Please note that products should not carry political messages.

  9. Maritime Market Costs shown below are for the duration of the festival (9 days) for a 3 meter (frontage) x 3 meter trading space. Traders that require a larger trading space will be charged accordingly. The above costs cover your trading licence, allocated pitch, 24 hour security, stall hire and electric (if required to trade). Receipt of payment in full will secure your pitch. (You will be notified of the payment deadline if selected to trade). If full payment is not received by then your pitch will be allocated to another trader.

  10. Maritime Market Market stalls / Mobile Units • There is a limited amount of council owned pop-up stalls. Requests for council owned stalls must be made during the application process.   • Your stall / mobile unit MUST stay in the event zone for the duration of the festival.   • Traders must ensure that stalls/mobile units: • meet with health & safety requirements. • be aesthetically pleasing. Risk Assessments will be required for all structures erected on site and a Fixed Electrical Certificate will be required for all mobile units on site.

Maritime Market Electrical Supplies: • An Electric supply will be provided if required to trade. • Mainly 16 amp outlets but a limited supply of 32 amp and 3Phase supplies • No Electrical equipment will be supplied although an electrician will be on site. • ALL electrical equipment must comply with current legislation and have a valid Portable Appliance Test (PAT) certificate.

Maritime Market • Water Supply & Waste Disposal • Council will provide and maintain waste oil and water containers • Responsibility of the trader to ensure proper disposal of waste, such as oils, fats and batter type mixes. • Under no circumstances is liquid waste to be disposed of down drains, grids or soak ways. • Please note, any illegal disposal of the above mentioned liquids / oils could result in a financial penalty from Northern Ireland Water. Also, any costs incurred in the cleaning / repair of drains or soak ways will be passed onto the trader. CCTV will be operational at the event.

Maritime Market • Council will provide a stand pipe for water on site. • Council will provide general waste (black), recycling (blue) and food (brown) bins on site. • Council will provide street cleansing and waste removal for the duration of the festival. • Security • 24hr Security on duty during the course of the event.

Maritime Market Application Stage 1: TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS / CAPACITY Weight: Pass / Fail Traders who provide with their application the relevant information requested in stage one will receive a pass mark and move onto stage two. • Insurance Certificates • Fixed Electrical Certificate • Portable Appliance Test Certificates • Food Hygiene Ratings (4* and above) • Gas Safety Certificates

Maritime Market Application Stage 2: The Product Weight: 60% Traders that receive a pass mark in stage 1 will move onto stage two and their submission will then be evaluated against the following criteria. We primarily want to attract traders who sell food and non-food goods not normally associated with more conventional / shopping outlets. Where possible products/produce must be locally sourced. Products should not carry strong political messages. This will be a key consideration as part of the selection process for all applications received.

  16. Maritime Market Application Stage 2: Festival Theme Weight: 30% Our aim is to select a vibrant mix of traders to and to enhance the shopping experience of visitors to the City. This will be a key consideration as part of the selection process for all applications received. It is vital that the traders display effort with their stand presentation, as a poorly presented stand will ultimately affect the overall image of your product and festival. Stage 2: Experience Weight: 10%

  17. Ice Cream Providers We welcome applications from individuals and businesses registered within the DCSDC area ONLYspecialising in the sale of ice cream from a mobile unit, such as vehicle, trailer or cart. Applications will be available from www.foylemaritimefestival.com/trading By ????? Closing date

Ice Cream Providers • Mobile Units • Depending on trading location, your mobile unit may be required to stay in the event zone for the duration of the festival.   • Traders must ensure that mobile units meet with health & safety requirements and be aesthetically pleasing. If applicable mobile units must be road worthy, therefore proof of the following will be required for all units on site: • MOT • Vehicle Tax • Insurance • Fixed Electrical Certificate

  22. Ice Cream APPLICATION • Trade Stand Fee • Mobile ice cream units, such as vans, trailers and carts, will be invited to submit a cost based proposal for rental of a trading location for the duration of the festival (9 days). • Submissions will be ranked and the highest scoring companies will be given the choice of preferred location. • E.g. Highest score – first preference • Please note, one trading location percompany!!!
