The Evolution of Accelerator • Greater focus on scale and replication of successful projects (Innovation Impact) • System Change and Regional focus – removing barriers and developing new practices within the system through integration in regional plans, coordinate projects past and present with WIOA Regional Implementation Plans, connecting with regional workforce and other system partners • Continued support for new innovation (New Projects) 7.0
Who do I contact? • Using CalJOBS • Setting up subgrant • Expenditure reporting • Monthly reporting (first two months only) • Challenges or pivots • Budget modifications • 7.0 events and activities • Quarterly reporting Email both your State Board Program Analyst and EDD Project Manager with any program or administrative questions you might have 7.0
Changes to Project Project changes will require a Subgrant Modification Request Form • This form will be required for the following types of project changes: • Scope of work • Budget modifications • Changes to partners, subcontractors, and/or purchasers • Changes in project staff and points of contact Email both your State Board Program Analyst and EDD Project Manager when submitting your Subgrant Modification Form 7.0
Admin and Reporting Grant Period is May 1, 2019 – October 31, 2020* *Technical Assistance thru March 2021 • Monthly Narrative Reports: • Required for May and June of 2019 only • EDD to send Monthly Narrative Report template • Send to EDD Project Manager only • Quarterly Narrative Reports: • Required starting July 2019 • State Board to send template 30 days prior to the due date All reports must be sent to both your State Board Program Analyst and EDD Project Manager. 7.0
Desired Outcomes Identify and learn new strategies, promising practices, and course corrections: • Recruitment and outreach • Partner engagement • Systems alignment amongst initiative partners • Leveraging resources • Program model • Replicating and/or scaling a project to another area and/or population 7.0
Purpose of Quarterly Narrative Reports • Reflect on innovations, system changes, course corrections, challenges, and successes • Opportunity to share project status, quick wins, lessons learned, and best practices • Specify technical assistance needed for your project and share your experiences in working with TA coaches • Help us, State Board and EDD, make recommendations to better improve innovation in the workforce system 7.0
Quarterly Narrative Reports What do we want to know? Project Specifics • Progress and milestones • Alterations to approach as a result of what you have learned through your project • Your organization’s programming or procedures • Course corrections • How have you adjusted your project around a barrier? • Have you made adjustments to an aspect that was not working? • Expectation vs reality • Technical Assistance • Specify technical assistance needed or areas your project needs help in • Experiences and results from coaching • Staff/team member changes • Participant data (if applicable) 7.0
Quarterly Narrative Reports What do we want to know? Systematic • Capacity building within the system • Target population specific barriers to employment • Lessons learned and best practices • Significant pieces of the workforce system • How it relates to your project, the target population being served, and/or innovation in the workforce system in general • Workforce system barriers • Unforeseen systematic challenges and how have you had to adjust your project 7.0
