Priorities • Priorities will be decided by vote at January 9, 2012 meeting • Criteria for priorities TBD, but will include value to University, feedback from full committee on appropriate scope, crystal ball gazing of OE data center process • Early favorites • Enterprise backups • Describe expected impact or value to the university for each project
Early Contenders • Enterprise Backups • Opportunity to standardize data protection practices • Potential PR win if it accompanies OE Desktop initiative • Reduce risk from data loss, and data release • EC2-like – Private Cloud Services • Off the shelf solutions available • Ambitious undertaking • Mail Archiving • Could please both compliance officers and end users • Opportunity to reduce duplicated effort and reduce confusion over compliance requirements
