The Solution: in America live in poverty…* • In 2003, the Robin Hood Foundation in New York City created Single Stop New York. • In 2007, the national replication strategy began. • In 2008, Single Stop opened new sites in California, New Jersey and New Mexico. Single Stop
How it Works: The Single Stop Model Services Minimum Staff Required Relationship and Responsibility Financial Legal • Run benefits screening and help clients with applications • Manage site triage/intake process and refer clients to legal, financial, and EITC staff • Point person with SSUSA and responsible for regular tracking and reporting requirements. Full-Time Site Coordinator Benefits Part-Time Attorney • Provide legal counseling to clients referred from Site Coordinator • Attorney provided through partnerships coordinated by SSUSA Part-Time Schwab Volunteer Financial Coach • Provide financial counseling to clients referred from Site Coordinator • Financial Counselor provided through partnerships coordinated by SSUSA Tax Credits (EITC) Seasonal Staff / Local Partners • Provide tax return filing for clients who qualify for tax credits (EITC and CTC)
