Document goal and status • VPN TF document • Goal of the document • Provide common infrastructure and view for managing multiple types of VPNs • To lay out the building blocks and how they are inter-related without defining the details of each building block. • Keeping this document at the architectural level. • No selection of specific approach • No selection of protocols • Terminology: not an OAM(aintenance) document !
Two main NMS functions • Customer Manager deals with: • Customer ID, personal info • Subscription services and parameters • Access control policy info • Stats • Provider Network Manager deals with: • Devices attributes • PE (and CE) configuration
