VIRTUAL PARTENARIAT – AN ON-LINE BUSINESS SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR SMEs 29. October 2002.
Objectives of the project are to: • Construction of a powerful international virtual business contact place; • Providing companies to get an easier access to useful information and business support services; • To make a Virtual Partenariat as a support system for “real” Partenariats.
The project itself aims to accomplish the following: • Feasibility Study • Training at the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) • Technical specifications to be elaborated • Modifications to the present Baltic Sea Partenariat • A pilot project • A virtual and video meeting place equipped • Project publicity and promotion of the new services
Final version of the portal should offer the following services: • Business inquiry database • Trade directory • Matchmaking / partner search services • Chat and video conferences • Business trips, “real” Partenariats
The project will be directly contributing to the following goals and objectives of the Riga region development strategy adopted in 2000: • Increased role of the Riga region in the Baltic Sea region; • Effective partnership with other regions of Latvia and the private sector; • Support for raised business competitiveness; • Creation of an active information space.
It is planned to carry out the following sub-activities: • Information towards the CC members via the regular communication channels in Latvia and Sweden; • Information in the national and international mass media of the partner countries; • “Open doors” events at the CCs of Latvia and Sweden to present the virtual and video meeting opportunities; • Sending out presentation information to the rest of the CCs in the Baltic Sea Region; • Marketing activities of the Virtual Partenariat by mailing the information to the previous BSP mailing list.
The training will cover the following themes: • Introduction of the Virtual Partenariat as a product to add certain values to the present traditional information, consultancy and advisory services of LCCI • Information on EU Regulations and regulations affecting the business environment • Consultations for companies seeking new markets • New product / service development and introduction • Pricing policy and presentation to the customer • International arbitrage and legal services in the international trade
The main activities of Baltic Sea Partenariat 2001 were: • Elaboration of Recommendations; • Capacity – building programme; • Support to SMEs – Baltic Sea Partenariat 2001;
