  5. Structure • Introduce your talk, what is your focus? • Central discussion - concepts • Conclusion – what questions does this raise?

  6. Your presentation - stating the obvious! Practice and timing Confidence Use notes / card /script Don’t fidget! Choose questions to the audience carefully

  7. Handouts (not a PowerPoint printout) • One sheet of A4 – 2 copies - named • Theme of your presentation • Problem(s) addressed • Image sources and any manipulations you have made • Books / websites visited • (What) Did you learn from this?

  8. PowerPoint / OHPs • Transparencies can be purchased in library • Use photocopier • Can use images or text on overheads • PowerPoint tip – don’t get carried away with the wizardry! You are probably finding the number of different ‘tricks’ in this PowerPoint very irritating!! • Limit the number of slides
