Laboratory/ Practical work 20% of the coursework will be in the laboratory and the reports will be kept in a portfolio for the IB internal assessment. Read the hand outs before each practical and prepare data tables in advance. During the laboratory, write your own observations Make good use of the laboratory time. You will turn in your rough notes for each laboratory and the instructions for the lab.
Laboratory continued Students who are absent must make up the practical as soon as possible after school or during a free period. Reports are due one week after the practical work is completed. Start writing the lab report the same day that the practical work is finished. 10% of the grade will be given for each day that the work is late. The grade will be lowered by 10% for each week that the report is late. Reports will be submitted to turnitin.com and will be written individually. DO NOT send your lab report to “help” other students.
Homework Expect to read, finish a project, or study between each lesson. Many of the readings are online. You are expected to check the website for links. If you are absent, check the website to find out what work was missed and try to do the assignment before the next lesson. http://www2.nido.cl/~doehlke/index.htm
