ROTC Programs • SDSU ROTC - GREAT LEADERS AND STRONG TRADITION • General Omar N. Bradley • Former Professor of Military Science at SDSU ROTC in 1919 • First ever Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. • The first woman in the nation to be commissioned through Army ROTC was commissioned at SDSU Army ROTC on 1 May 1976. • Military Science at SDSU for over 125 years. • Air Force and Army ROTC
ROTC Programs • College Courses • ROTC classes are tuition free with no obligation for military service • Enroll in MSL 101 or 102 and/or AIR 101 and 102 • Counts as elective credits toward graduation • Scholarships • Two, Three, and Four year scholarships available • Available to all eligible students • Scholarships include 100% tuition, fees, book stipends • An additional free monthly stipend • Develop Leadership skills • Receive placement in an exciting career upon graduation • Service • National Service • Campus and Community Service

College Issues: FERPA • Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act is a federal law which affords students certain rights with respect to their educational records • Students the right to: • Inspect and review their educational records • Request an amendment to records if they believe there is an inaccuracy • Restrict any or all information from public access • SDSU supports Families through the “FERPA” transition • Respecting the relationship that exists between parents and students • Honor the student’s emerging adulthood at the same time • Encourage families to keep lines of communication open
Does my student need a computer • YES/NO • Journalism and Visual Arts require a computer (Mac) beginning their sophomore year. Information is available on what is needed on the departmental websites • Otherwise, any computer will work. • Several computer labs throughout campus
