  2. Training Program Updates • 2013 – 2014 – independent review of Curriculum & Training Networks underway (session later today) • Update to SMART research manuscript submission process • Introduction of the Physical Examination Case in the Phase 2 viva examinations

  3. SMARTResearch Requirement The research manuscript may now be submitted to the Journal of Medical imaging and Radiation Oncology (JMIRO), Clinical Oncology, Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology Physics or Practical Oncology, in which case, acceptanceto the peer-review process will satisfy the research requirement. If the manuscript has already been published or has been accepted for publication in the above-named journal, then this will automatically satisfy the research requirement.

Physical Examination CasePhase 2 viva examinations • Introduced Series I, 2013 • One of the eight clinical cases • Flagged to candidates as the ‘PE station’ prior to going into the room • Assessment based on examination technique, interaction with patient and accurate and logical presentation of examination findings • Discussed in more detail at the Ph2 prep. course

ESTRO Collaboration - MUO#1 • All trainees ESTRO affiliate members in 2012 • 3 year trial at no cost to trainees (IPSEN) • Discounts on courses, on-line resources • FALCONS – contouring exercises/tutorials • Green Journal subscription • DOVE (dynamic on-line virtual ESTRO) • Radiobiology course – Network tutors (registration open) • Trainee survey to evaluate use

ESTRO Collaboration – MOU#2 • Faculty well received at ESTRO Forum – Geneva April 2012 – first joint RANZCR/ESTRO session • Positioned RANZCR as a ‘hub’ to distribute teaching courses to Asia • Asked us to advise on expanding their core curriculum and assessments • Keen to bring more courses to ANZ (even plan ahead 5+ years!) • Wanting regular joint scientific sessions at all ESTRO meetings – our ASM 2014

ESTRO FALCONS & Courses • Fellowship of Anatomic deLineation & CONtouring • On-line tutorials including pre-tutorial exercises, feedback/repeat homework over 3w with ‘live’ tutor • Updated software with better contouring tools • Agreed to conduct with groups in our time-zones • Keen for content contributors/teachers • Keen to train ANZ teachers as ESTRO course Faculty (not just for ANZ) • Volunteers welcome
