What we set out to do ? • MoU – I (September 2003 – June 2005) 700 Craft Micro – Enterprises CIGs • MoU – II (July 2005 – June 2007) 401 Craft Micro – Enterprises CIGs (Revised Targets) RNFS NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT
What we could not do ? • MoU – I (2003 – 2006) Programme – 700 Achievement – 207 Shortfalls – 493 (70.43%) • MoU – II (2006 – 2007) Revised Programme – 401 Achievement – 310 Shortfalls – 91 (21%) RNFS NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT
Low preference for craft based enterprises among CIGs - only 529 craft sub projects proposed for appraisal out of 700 identified CIGs CIGs drop out from craft based enterprises to other choices. NGO drop out from programme on account of structural problems. DPIP goes the IRDP way by preferring goatry and livestock projects. Why ? RNFS NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT

What we could do ? • Develop high quality micro enterprise management training modules (help from NISIET/Udyogini/IGPRS acknowledged) • Train 98 resource persons from NGOs, Banks, etc. • Empanel best Master Craftsmen for skill trainings. • Publish craft wise artisan directory for easy reference. • Involve IPI Italy and reputed Italian & Foreign Designers for design workshop. • Develop and grade 310 craft wise CIGs A Grade – 47 B Grade – 139 C Grade – 124 (based on production standards) • Develop Resource Material Product Wise/Craft wise, Process Charts etc. for Technical Support to CIGs. • Organize Exposure Visits for 132 CIGs. • Sponsor 43 CIGs for National – state level Market Events • Link 310 CIGs with Gramin Haats/DIC, Udhyog Fairs for continued market support • Start Helpline for Artisans: 0141 – 2226861 RNFS NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT

What still can be done ? RUDA is willing to – Conduct a Condensed 5-7 days training course on Micro Enterprise Management for left out CIGS (M-I 191 CIGs & M-II 236 CIGs) – proposal pending Develop the Kota Doria Mangrol Cluster in Baran Develop the Handloom Cluster in Jhalawar for existing 120 CIGs – proposal pending Co-partner Churu Carpet Cluster with Jaipur Carpets Organise ToT on Cluster Development for DPIP NGOs Re-train and upscale B and C grade CIGs Document the micro-entrerprise initative with competence – income mapping of all 310 CIGs Video – docu – case studies of successes and failures Continue market support for all 310 CIGs – A grade for external markets, B and C grade permanent link up with 6 grameen haats and 7 district udyog melas RNFS NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT
