Background and Current Status of 2005/2009 Plan • • 2005/2009 Strategic Plan adopted by Yachting Australia Board and endorsed by all MYAs following extensive consultative process with MYAs and key stakeholders • • Agreed plan would be a “rolling” Strategic Plan • Annual Operations Plan developed to guide implementation of current financial year activities. Annual Plans have been shared with all MYAs • Annual Operations Plan have guided focus and priorities of the Yachting Australia management team • Quarterly progress to date reports presented to the Yachting Australia Board and shared with all MYAs
2006-2007 Achievements To Date Sport Services & Non-Olympic High Performance KRA 1, 3, 4 & 5 • • National Officiating Program review completed and recommendations under consideration for future implementation • OAMPS secured as major sponsor of Youth Development program • Audi IRC Championships created to re-establish Australian Offshore Championships • Club Coach course developed and trialled and now available for MYA delivery • Junior Sailing Plan framework developed • MyClass IT tool developed and available for use.
2006-2007 Achievements To Date Sport Services and Non-Olympic High Performance KRA 1, 3, 4 & 5 (continued) • National Umpires & Race Officers training courses held. • International & Recognised classes boat register audit completed and I&R funding grants allocated • Extensive Youth Development program implemented. Including Youth Champs, selection of National Youth Team for ISAF Worlds and youth focused micro website • Sailing included in 2007 Australian Youth Olympic Festival for first time • All national events scheduled and implemented successfully across various MYAs and host clubs • Over 1400 IRC certificates issued over 2 years.
2006-2007 Achievements To Date Training KRA2 • Review of SSSC and development of re-validation course completed • Development and completion of Instructor and Assistant Instructor Training Program • NCAS Beginning Coaching Accreditation approved • Agreement signed with US Sailing to produce training texts for the Australian market under licence • First four adapted Training texts published and released for sale via Boat Books • MOU signed with RYA in relation to Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster initiatives
2006-2007 Achievements To Date Training (contiuned) KRA2 • Generic logbook produced and released for sale via Boat-Books • State Maritime Authorities presented with proposal to advance joint recognition of high levels of the RYA/Yachting Australia Yachtmaster qualifications • New licence agreements finalised with several MYAs and new MYA/YATC licence agreements being utilised • YATC Operating Guidelines updated and made available • RTO application submitted to NSW VETAB
2006-2007 Achievements To Date Olympic & Paralympic Program KRA 4 • Development of Australian Sailing Team concept with a strong focus on a high performance culture and team environment • Strong performances at international level by Olympic medal potential sailors at the 2006 ISAF Worlds and various Class World Championships (moving from 12th to 2nd on the ISAF ranking list) • Implementation of commercial program including the securing of Hamilton Island, Audi, Gill and Ronstan as corporate partners and the establishment of the Patrons Club • Increased financial support and cooperation from the ASC and AIS • Development of partnerships with the CSIRO and BOM
2006-2007 Achievements To Date Olympic & Paralympic Program (cont’d) KRA 4 • Class specific coaches appointed to work with all key Olympic classes in the AST • Strengthened and expanded the Australian Sailing Development Squad program with a clear pathway and focus for the 2012 Games • State HP program (SHPP) roles and responsibilities refined and implemented and a SHPP Coach appointed in Queensland • Establishment of Australian Paralympic Team program including the appointment of a Paralympic Coach/Coordinator • Strong performances at international level by Paralympic medal potential sailors at the 2006 FESPIC Games
2006-2007 Achievements To Date Business Management KRA 6 & 7 • Periodic based reporting system developed with alignment to Strategic Plan and Operations Plan • Dedicated in-house marketing resource established • Relationship developed with IMS to enhance long-term utilisation and positioning of the yachting brands via a licensing program • Strong representation maintained with ISAF and with key Federal regulatory and advisory agencies • Web-based IT Tools won ASC Award • OAMPS secured as official insurance provider
