According to experts the Russian Far East is one of the most significant regions of the Russian Federation for the Generation and Transfer of Energy In the next 10 years investments in the power generation of the Russian Far East amounted to 500 billion USD Installed capacity in 2025 will increase by 1.6 times

  3. Sustaining high rates of energy potential in the Far Eastern region of Russia requires the development of high innovation and technological progress. It also needs providing local Energy industries with highly qualified personnel

According to Development Program Energy Efficiency Problems and Energy-saving Technologies are foreground development areas of the Far Eastern Federal University This aim is to concentrate the main administrative, financial and human resources to create a cross-sectoral Energy Cluster with the cooperation of the leading industries, business, scientific and educational organizations The University is a partner in the implementation of technological and educational projects for the benefit of all the major energy producing companies in the region, such as RusHydro, RAO Energy System of East, Federal Grid Company, etc.

Basic Facility Infrastructure Project –Scientific - Educational and Industrial Center for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy The region's largest Scientific - Educational and Industrial Center for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy with guaranteed funding in cooperation with leading companies RusHydro and Schneider Electric Project Portfolio valued of 55 million USD In 2013, more than 30 organizational and promotional events are planned

Unique, specific Research and Development of the Far Eastern Federal University Rapid assessment of the technical condition of high voltage equipment and software and hardware systems to improve the reliability and safety of electrical systems Multifunction power plant systems engineering (up to 30 kW) in the interests of power and energy shortages remote areas High-tech educational center in collaboration with Schneider Electric company Education with leading experts in nuclear physics for training highly qualified personnel for the nuclear industry in Vietnam commissioned by  the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM Energy-efficient Campus as a FEFU territory for study and introduction of the best Asia Pacific experience for advanced technologies in energy conservation and renewable energy sources
