Terms to Know • Conservationist - a person who advocates or strongly promotes preservation and careful management of natural resources and of the environment • Selective hunting – to pick or choose certain animals to harvest • Middling - medium or average • Alpha animal – individual in the community with the highest rank • Rut- the periodically recurring sexual excitement of the deer, goat, sheep, etc. • Ewe – a female sheep • Propagated – to cause (an organism) to multiply by any process of natural reproduction from the parent stock. • Viability - ability to live, especially under certain conditions
