  6. THE CALL TO WORSHIP (Pastor / CONGREGATION) I can do all things through Christ WHO GIVES ME STRENGTH. Great is the power of God AT WORK IN THOSE WHO BELIEVE. I am not ashamed of the gospel, BECAUSE IT IS THE POWER OF GOD TO EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES. (Philippians 4:13; Ephesians 1:19a; Romans 1:16a)

  17. THE HOLY SCRIPTURE Judges 4:1-10; 12-15 Again the Israelites did evilin the eyes of the Lord,now that Ehud (the judge of Israel) was dead. So the Lord gave the Israelites into the hands ofJabin, king of Canaan,who reigned in Hazor. Sisera, the commander ofKing Jabin’s army,was based in HaroshethHaggoyim.Because Sisera had nine hundred chariotsfitted with ironand had cruelly oppressed the Israelitesfor twenty years,they cried to the Lord for help. Now Deborah, a prophet,the wife of Lappidoth, was leading Israel at that time.She held court under the Palm of Deborahbetween Ramah and Bethelin the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went up to herto have their disputes decided.

She sent for Barak,son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali and said to him,“The Lord, the God of Israel,commands you:‘Go, take with you ten thousand menof Naphtali and Zebulunand lead them up to Mount Tabor. I, the Lord, will lead Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army,with his chariots and his troopsto the Kishon Riverand give him into your hands.’”Then Barak said to Deborah,“If you go with me,I will go;but if you don’t go with me,I won’t go.”“Certainly I will go with you,” said Deborah. “BUT because you will not lead,the honor of victory will not be yours,for the Lord will deliver Sisera into the handsof another woman.”So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh. There Barak summoned Zebulun and Naphtali, and ten thousand menwent up under his command. Deborah also went up with him.

  19. When Sisera was toldthat Barak, son of Abinoam, had gone up to Mount Tabor,Sisera summoned all his menand his nine hundred chariots fitted with iron.Then Deborah said to Barak, “Go! This is the day the Lord has givenSisera into your hands.Has not the Lord gone ahead of you?” So Barak went down Mount Tabor,with ten thousand men following him.At Barak’s advance,the Lord routed Sisera and all his chariots and army by the sword,and Sisera got down from his chariotand fled on foot.

  23. DEBORAH: A WOMAN OF GOD’S CHOICE

  24. MALE / FEMALE EQUALITY We are all created in the image of God.We have all sinned and fallen short of God's expectations. The Apostle Paul’s definitive word on equality: Galatians 3:28 – “There is neither Jew or Greek, bond or free,male or female:for you are all ONE in Christ Jesus.” ALL LIVES MATTER !!!

  25. God chose Deborah as the best person (male or female) to lead Israel She excelled in it. She was willing to serve! Are YOU willing to serve God through Bayshore Church? (Opportunities are coming !!)

  29. Deborah did NOT FORGET to give all the praise and glory to God From Judges 5 – The Song of Deborah “Praise the Lord for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves. But may all who love and serve You be bright and shining like the rising sun when it breaks over the horizon! And may the land of Israel bask in many years of peace.”

WHY GOD USED DEBORAH (1) Deborah was FAITHFUL to God and to the people of Israel (2) Deborah had an UNWAVERING TRUSTthat God would keep His promisesmade to His Chosen People, Israel (3) Deborah, by example, INSPIRED CONFIDENCE in othersto trust that God always actsin the best interest of His people Deborah was a true leader who wasn't afraid toget into the sometimes messy businessof doing the right, God-honoring thing.

  31. The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s Prayer OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME. THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD, AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS; AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL. FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM, AND THE POWER, AND THE GLORY FOREVER AMEN.
