Financial Guidelines • one checking account and one savings account per club • checking account not to exceed $1,000 • savings account not to exceed $2,000 • may exceed limits with a specific purpose and fundraising goal • keep excess funds in a county 4-H council or 4-H foundation’s treasury in a line item designated for your club Allows youth full access to and responsibility for managing the club’s funds while controlling the risk of financial loss University of Wyoming 4-H Youth Development

  4. Financial Requirements • EIN Number (Employer Identification Number) • 4 active signers on each financial account • 2 must be UW CES Employees • Annually submit completed Treasurer’s Handbook All money raised under the name of 4-H are public funds University of Wyoming 4-H Youth Development

Developing a BudgetandFundraising Guidelines • When you know what the club wants to do, then you can begin to figure out how much it might cost and how the club wants to pay for it • all money raised using the name of 4-H must be used only for 4-H purposes. • fundraising should be conducted to meet a club goal • Income and Fundraising Request Form – keeps communication open • income from dues, donations, etc can be spent at the discretion of the club members University of Wyoming 4-H Youth Development

  6. Club Property • Annual Inventory Report – submitted annually and kept on file at the county extension office • club dissolution – property should be delivered to the county extension office for future use in 4-H activities University of Wyoming 4-H Youth Development
