ITBs • All ITBs use EA waiver process • GIS Software • Identifies GT/GIS software standards for the Commonwealth • Reviews by DOT, PHMC, and LCB • Information Domain Team to release draft to agencies for official comment period after meeting with DOT and updates
ITBs • GESA • Establishes GESA as primary architecture for all Commonwealth of PA geospatial Internet/Intranet applications • Applies to new geospatial hardware/software and database investments • Primary data storage for all geospatial data assets that need to be shared across agencies
Training • Instructor-Led – ITQ Procurements • Online Self-Paced – ESRI Virtual Campus • Workshops - GIS 101 for Managers • Training is FREE and optional for agencies
Training • Planning for FY05 Training • No more open registration • Agencies must submit employee names and prioritize via standard Excel spreadsheet • Alternates will need to be assigned by the agency • Exceptions will be made for newly hired GIS employees • Instructor-Led training to be held in FY 2005 • Introduction to ArcGIS I • Introduction to ArcGIS II • Building Geodatabases I • Data Collection, Editing, and Production • Introduction to ArcIMS
Training • GIS 101 for Managers” workshop • August 24, 10:00am - 11:30am, Ag, Room 309 • October 27 • $3,000 +/- of ESRI Virtual Campus courses still available • BGT developing agency charge back policy for GT training • Leveraging existing OA HR policy • BGT will be working with OIT Fiscal to set up charge back accounts to the agencies • Integration of Agency Training Coordinators via OA HR
GEARS/GATIR • Common Operating View for HS response systems • Fosters geospatial data sharing among all levels of government through the use of XML web services and OGC standards using ITEP funding • Adding Robust Geospatial Enhancements to PEMA’s PEIRS application • Interoperable essential services of geocoding, mapping, routing, and search capabilities to be sharable across state agencies and first responders through the use of web services
GEARS/GATIR • Phase 1: OGC Web Services for Data Sharing • Phase 2: GATIR Portal Modifications for PEMA/PEIRS • 2 more portals for Transportation and Health as follow on’s to this project • Project is implementing the baseline architecture and portal web service components • Phase 3: Reusable Web Service Lightweight Applications
GEARS/GATIR • Sixteen (16) of the forty-two (42) OGC web services for data sharing deployed to GESA staging environment • Deployment configured architecture for OGC compatibility • GATIR user interface skin, logo and functionality of GATIR were defined • Geocoding, Mapping, Routing, Spatial Search, and Plume Modeling functional requirements for Phase 3 were completed • Lightweight, reusable XML web services that PEIRS and other agencies will use in the future to build robust geospatial applications
GEARS/GATIR • ArcIMS security configured on development environment for both non-secure and secure data services and applications • Performance testing being conducted • Response times for non-secure vs. secure applications and data web services • Testing implications of having both on the same web server
Web Services • An application, delivered as a service, that can be integrated with other web applications/services using Internet standards • URL/addressable resource that programmatically returns information to clients who want to use it, using common Internet coding standards such as HTTP and XML • Can be used by multiple agencies (and multiple applications within an agency) without agencies needing to devote time and funding to develop the same application process
Web Services • BasicAddressMatch • Enterprise web service allowing an input address string to be geocoded using TANA/GDT Matchmaker data • Native .NET web service callable from an agency application • Developers Integration Guide available at www.gis.state.pa.us
Web Services • USPSAddressVerification • Accesses the QAS QuickAddress Pro Web software and enterprise data for application address verification capabilities . • Address verification data is provided specifically for the United States of America • Data is updated on a bi-monthly basis • Staging – 10/24 • Production – 10/31
Web Services • BGTBoundaryGeocoder • Returns geography identifier 'within', plus those within a user-specified distance of the address geocoded point, plus a confidence value that indicates how close to a boundary the address was. • Currently works with school districts and municipalities, but extensible to any other continuous polygon geography with a unique field value by adding additional boundary data layer references to a database table • Staging – 8/29 • Developers Integration Guide available at www.gis.state.pa.us
Web Services • GATIR Web Services • Geocoding • Finds lat/long for a given address or intersection or a centroid for a city/town • Performs geocoding of US and Canadian addresses, postal codes, and city/towns • Routing • Provides ability to get routing directions and/or a route highlight shape between point locations within the continental US and Canada • Route highlight shape will contain the lat/long coordinates defining the route along the roads • Route shape can be passed into the Mapping Web Service to create a map highlighting the route
Web Services • GATIR Web Services • Spatial Search • Performs spatial query based on parameters • Mapping • Generates a map image file of an area of interest • Plume Modeling • Generates a map image file containing a set of plume polygons based on a set of user specified parameters • Gazetteer
