A list of Characters with a short description involved in Martin Luther’s argument with the Catholic Church • Gutenberg Printing Press- The Printing Press helped Luther spread his 95 Theses • Frederick the Wise- He saved Martin Luther from the fury of the Catholic Church • Pope Leo X- He demanded Luther to retract 41 of his 95 Theses, when Luther refused he excommunicated Martin Luther from the Catholic Church • Charles V- He decided to extinguish Luther so that the Pope would not have any troubles
Luther’s accusations (or issues) against the Catholic Church He wrote the 95 Theses, in which he complained about: • The Church had too much wealth • The Power of the Pope • Indulgences (Catholic concept of Salvation) • Only God can give salvation- not a priest
