Rehearsal • Monday, June 3rd 7:00-8:30 p.m. (arrive at 6:30p.m.) • Bojangles’ Coliseum • Be Prompt!! We have a limited amount of Rehearsal Time • Go directly to floor of Coliseum and find your Homeroom Teacher (we cannot enter until the school before us departs) • No parents or guests are allowed in the Coliseum during the Rehearsal
Rehearsal • Do not plan college orientations or visits for June 3rd • Adjust your work schedule • You must attend the Rehearsal in order to graduate • Attendance will be taken and absences reported to Dr Cockerham • Senior Medallions distributed
Graduation Day • Monday, June 10th 12:00 p.m. • Bojangles’ Coliseum • Arrive attired in cap and gown by 11:00 a.m. • No outside decorations – only Tassel, Honor Cords, and Senior Medallion • Unlimited seating for friends and family • You may only wear the Honor Cords you have earned • Check Graduation website: http://huskygrad2013.cmswiki.wikispaces.net/home
DRESS • Ladies wear appropriate dress or skirt and top under gown (if pants, should be black) • Men wear a white shirt and tie with appropriate dress pants and shoes • NO BLUE JEANS, SHORTS, CLOGS, FLIP-FLOPS, TENNIS SHOES OR OTHER ATHLETIC FOOTWEAR. • Inappropriately dressed seniors will not participate in ceremony
Reminders • No cell phones or electronic devices in Coliseum (leave them in your car) • No gum or purses • No beach balls, silly string or glitter etc • Upon arriving at the Coliseum, officers will wand for electronic devices, etc • Locate your homeroom teacher in the tunnels • Follow lead of Junior Marshals throughout ceremony
Recessional • Junior Marshals will lead recessional • Meet homeroom teachers after exiting the Coliseum to receive diploma insert • Meet family and friends in the parking lot at the entrance of the Coliseum Tables will be set up here to receive your diploma after the ceremony – outside the coliseum from your homeroom teacher
Senior Obligations • PAY YOUR FEES! Diplomas will be pulled for unpaid fees • See front office or homeroom teacher for fees owed • If you have not picked up or purchased your cap and gown, see LTC Cowley or Mrs. Andrews immediately! • See LTC Cowley if you need additional announcements. • Stay focused!! You’re almost there!!
Awards Night • Tuesday, May 21th in the Hough Auditorium • Meet in the Mall Area at 6:30 p.m. for refreshments and directions • If you plan to attend, wear business attire, dress shirt, tie, slacks (men) or a dress (women) • Seniors will enter together at the beginning of the program at 7:00 p.m
Don’t Make A Life Lasting Mistake Southern Lee High School officials said the students had planned to vandalize the school's campus, but were sent home with a stern warning that a prank could lead them to becoming barred from graduation. However, officials said later that same evening 15 students decided to regroup and instead target Lee County High School with the same intention, but one student strayed from the original plan. "It was just chalk," Southern Lee High School senior Bianca Cline said. "All we did was chalk and toilet paper. And then one person decided to bring spray paint "They're all willing to do community service, they're willing to work at the PTA thrift store, they're willing to clean the parking lot at both schools," parent Sadie Strunks said. "They're willing to do whatever they need to do. They just want to walk." "This is a milestone in their life that they're never going to get back," Fabiana Cline added. However, Southern Lee High School officials said they warned the students about the punishment.
Lifetime Ban Polka-dot Boxer Graduation Prank Gets Teen Banned From CMS For Life CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A Charlotte honor student has been permanently banned from Charlotte school property after dropping his pants during graduation ceremonies. “Our daughter was one of the students called after him. We were not able to hear her name called due to the commotion. He ruined my daughter’s graduation on so many levels as well the other students after her.”
Please Inform Parents and Guests • Show respect for all graduates • Applaud politely for each graduate • Limit cheers so every graduate’s name is heard by all attendees • Remain seated during the entire ceremony • For safety and security reasons and to keep focus on the graduates, guests are not allowed to bring the following: • No flowers • No duffel bags • No fanny packs • No backpacks • No gifts • No balloons • No air horns • No noisemakers, etc
