What is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder that some people get after seeing or living through a dangerous or traumatic event.

How can I prepare myself? • Remind yourself that nobody has all the answers. • Take care of your physical and mental health. • Support Networks

Wounded Warrior Project • Vision: To foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history. • Purpose: To raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members. To provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members. • Providing programs that will benefit soldiers, family members and children.
Restore Warriors • 600,000 men and women soldiers will have a mental disorder coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan. • Works with families of soldiers dealing with PTSD. • Offering tools, strategies and learning from others dealing with PTSD>
Establish Community Connections for Military families and provide support for children. • Connecting youth who are experiencing the same situation. • Provide programs for children. • Provide social and educational programs for children and family members of deployed soldiers.

Raise PTSD Awareness • PTSD Awareness Month: June 2013 • June 27th was named PTSD Awareness Day by Congress • What YOU can do: • Set up a table with PTSD information • Get local media to air a PTSD public service announcement • Include a story about PTSD in your company or group newsletter • Share our social media posts • Gather a group to learn about PTSD using one of our online modules • Share your own ideas on our PTSD Information Facebook page!
