Step by step 2004 Research of need of career counselling services in Kaunas secondary schools. 2005 Founded Vocational Counselling and Methodological Center for Secondary Schools in Kaunas Maironis gymnasium. National accreditation of Vocational Counselling and Methodological Center for Secondary Schools. 2007

  3. MODEL OF CAREER GUIDANCE SYSTEM

  5. Individual consultations • Duration 45 min. • Strongly recommended for pupil with low learning motivation. • Have 3 main steps: 1. self-assessment; 2. cognition of different vocations; 3. decision making process.

  6. Seminar for pupils “Teamwork and Leadership” Activities of the seminar had 6 steps: • Introduction. • Presentation of methodological background. • Division into teams. • Activity ”Building a ship”. • Presentation of teamwork results and reflection. • Certificates for students.

  8. “Teamwork and Leadership”. Presentation of the product.

  9. “Teamwork and Leadership”. Pupils and teachers after seminar.

  10. Group meetings of career counsellors • Supported by Kaunas Municipality 2008-2009. • Lector – Ilona Skridlaite from Kaunas College. • Planed meetings for career counsellors with main objective to discuss work tasks of professionals who work in Kaunas secondary schools.

  11. Group meetings of career counsellors • 1 introduction lecture. • Division to 4 workgroups. • 1 workgroup meeting per month. 8 meetings per two semesters: Discussions of the problems. Group activities. Supervision methods. Reflection. • Final Event.

Lectures for parents • Organized during the Annual Parents Days and class meetings. • Thematic areas of the lectures: • Possibilities of choosing pupils future career path. • National system of education. Institutions of tertiary education and study programmes. • National system of entering universities and colleges LAMABPO.
