  2. Messages to children • If you were to record a message to your children what would you say? • Would you share with them their family history, your hopes for them, dreams, wishes, instructions and warnings? • The Bible is full of messages to children…

  3. Who does God say is part of my family? • Matt. 12:46-50 While he was still speaking to the people, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him. But he replied to the man who told him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

(1:26) • Book Of Deuteronomy full of promises, warnings, hopes and goals. • Two major warnings are found in Ch. 6 • Do not forget Who and what God is. (4) • Do not forget to be thankful and to remind your children (12)

This lead to: being unwise, gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, and ruthless.

  8. Solomon • Paralleled in 1 Peter • 1Peter 1:14-16 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy."

  9. Paul • Titus 2 • Leaving instruction for his son while he could not be there with him. • “To Titus, my true child in a common faith…” • As a son you should be: dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, steadfast, pure and waiting for OUR blessed hope.

God’s word! • God’s word from beginning to end reads just like a note for a loving Father to His children. • He shares His hope (All men should repent and become wholly His), dreams (eternity together in Heaven) instructions (be transformed by the renewing of your mind) and warnings (if you do not obey then there will be punishment).

  12. Here is some of what I will share with my child? • Everyday remember who God is. (Deu. & Rom) • Everyday be thankful for what He has done. (Deu & Rom) • Learn for my mistakes (Proverbs & Deu.) • Be like God, Holy. Do not be like the world. (Proverbs & 1 Peter) • Be self-controlled, sound in faith, full of love, pure and be submissive (Titus) • God has a plan for you! Have hope. (HIS Word)

  13. If you are not a child… • You can take care of that today! • Simple plan • Hear his word • Believe • Repent • Confess • Be Baptized • Obey, Continue to grow and learn

  14. If you are a child… • If sin is in your life… • If you are not where you want to be spiritually… • We are here to help! • To pray • To study • To Stand and fight together • To help avoid sin and be pure together
