Aims and Objectives cont Session Objectives By the end of the session participants will have: • critically analysed the relationship between theory and practice • developed a systematic understanding of key aspects of approaches taken by a number of significant learning theorist and related them to classroom practices • analysed some theories in more detail, with reference to teacher education • identified and critiqued key issues relating to some learning theories.

G3.5.1 Next Session For the next session: • You should research only the one learning styles theory which you have agreed to research. • Read handout G3.5.3 on learning styles, concentrating on the theory you have agreed to research • Read the LSRC review and report, available at http://www.lsda.org.uk/files/PDF/1540.pdf, noting any criticisms of the learning styles theory you have agreed to research.
Next session cont. • Read critically and record your responses to the ideas. • Be prepared to share your ideas with others during the session, making sure you will be able to address each of the bullet points on the section of the handout relating to ‘your’ theory, and making sure also that you can give any relevant information about comments in the LRSC review about this same theory.
