What do Hydrologic Cycle Mean? • Hydro: acombining form meaning “water,” • Logic:the science that investigates the principles governing correct or reliable inference. • So it is the science that investigates the movement of water in the biosphere • Biosphere: the part of our planet where life resides.
The four major Parts of the Hydrologic Cycle. • 1. The sun heats up the Earth and causes Evaporation • Evaporation is the prossess of making liquid into gas.
Four major parts of the Hydrologic cycle • 2. Evaporated water are condensed into clouds. • Condensed:to make more dense or compact; reduce the volume or extent of; concentrate.
Four major parts of the Hydrologic Cycle • 3. Water is returned to earth as precipitation(rain, snow, hail)
Four magor parts of the hydrologic Cycle • 4. The precipition falls back on to earth. • It is taking up by plants roots, Percolates into the soil to enter into ground water, falls back into rivers ,lakes ect. And starts over from step1

Human Impacts • Humans Can alter the hydrologic cycle by diverting water for drinking and irrigation. • Also paving over land surfaces to build homes, and roads impacts the water cycle.
Review questions • 1. What are some human impacts on the Hydrologic cycle? Explain how it effects it. • 2.Describe the 2nd step of the Hydrologic cycle include a visual. • 3.Wjat do Hydrologic Mean? • 4. Name 1 abiotic and 1 biotic component that contributes the hydrologic cycle? • 5. Name 2 reasons why this Cycle is important to life on earth? • 6.Name 2 places the water go after it has fallen to earth?
