(This is where you will find homework & class activities.) • *Library book needs to go home nightly-Every child needs to read 20-30 minutes every night. ***There will not be a daily reading log this year, however, students are still required to read every night. Please return the library book to school each day. There will be times during the day where they will be able to read.
Absentee Homework • *Homework will be ready the next day unless prior arrangements are made. • *Write absent by name on heading of paper. • *The student is allowed 1 day for each day absent to turn in their work.
Assignments • *Worksheets will need a name and class number (Ex: L1 or S1). • *Incomplete heading and/or no name papers will result in a 5 point deduction. • *Late papers will result in a 10 point deduction.
Assignments-Continued • *Parent Portal-Please sign up to use this. It will help you track your student’s grades and missing assignments. • *We try to put grades into Portal in a timely manner. If you notice a blank grade on your child’s assignments or a “Missing” on an assignment, your child has not turned that assignment in. “Missing” assignments are averaged into your child’s score as a 0%. Please ask your child about this assignment and help us get that in.
Assignments-Continued • *Some assignments that have been scored as 69% or lower may be redone or corrected for an averaged grade. We do reserve the right to not allow this. The purpose of this procedure is to help students that do not understand a concept—not because they rushed through and did not try.
