Main avenues in 2010 2011 Procedure checks: • Review of Programme Manual, Internal Manual and Rules of Procedures for the MC and CC • External evaluation as part of ongoing evaluation of the programme implementation Calls and Projects: • 3 open Calls still to come in 2010 and 2011 • 15-20 additional projects Capitalisation and Publications: • More and more final results increase the importance and efforts of capitalisation • First ESPON Synthesis report in October 2010

Progress by summer 2010 Programme Implementation progress: • Applied Research projects: • 17 projects ongoing or final • 6-8 additional Applied Research projects remain • Targeted Analysis (based on stakeholder demand): • 18 ongoing • 4-5 additional Targeted Analyses coming up • Scientific Platform and Tools: • 2 major projects ongoing • 2 major projects remaining • Transnational Networking Activities: • 2 projects ongoing • 5-7 additional projects foreseen

  4. New Call for Proposals on 24 August 2010 Targeted Analyses: • Airports as Drivers in Peripheral Regions/ADES • Advanced Monitoring of regional R&D/AMCER Scientific Platform: • ESPON Database phase II Deadline: 19 October 2010

Calls opening in 2011 January 2011: Call for Expression of Interest: • Stakeholder Ideas for Targeted Analyses • Experts for the Knowledge Support System (depending on the themes of applied research selected by the MC) Call for Proposal: • 3-4 Applied Research projects • Territorial Monitoring and Reporting • Transnational Networking Activities (ECP) Autumn 2011: Calls for Proposals: • 3-4 Applied Research projects • 4-5 Targeted Analyses
