  2. A Hot Topic • The topic for using marijuana for medcinal purposes is a topic of discussion in the south • Lawmakers in Georgia and Alabama are proposing bills that would permit for the limited use of marijuana by those with specific medcinal conditions.

  3. The Fear of Legalizing • Republican’s feel that the legilization of marijuana could lead to “widespread drug use and social ills”. • Georgia Representative Allen Peake, house speaker David Ralston, and chair of judiciary committee Josh Mckoon are the commanding factions in this issue

  4. What Legalizing Can Help With • Some kids have suffered up to 100 seziures a day. • Parents are saying that medicinal marijauana can help ou their child a lot by calming them down and causing there body to mellow.

  5. Why It Can Be a Problem • People will not use it for medicinal purposes. • The public image of a six year old smoking is not a good look. • Some people may over use it.

  6. How It Would Enter Georgia • An option to receive marijuana in Georgia was to import it from Colorado. • However, this becomes a problem considering the fact that would be against a federal and state law. • At this time, Colorado medical marijuana laws doesn’t allow for them to give marijuana in other states.

  7. What I think • In my opinion I feel half and half about the situation. • If marijuana was to be legalized then patients who are not will and are having seizures would be able to be treated. • On the othe hand, people who it is issued out to may take advantage of it and use it for recreational use more than for medicinal purposes.
