How do you hold teachers accountable for the effective use of eSIS Grade Book? This report is in Reports>>Mark/Grade Reporting. eSIS Grade Book
eSIS Grade Book • 2009-10, the mandate expands to include all teachers of students in grades 6-12 • This includes teachers in middle and K-8 schools • Principals need to hold all teachers accountable—new eSIS report (see handout) • Parents and students deserve the ability to follow their progress online for all classes. This includes special education!
eSIS Grade Book Statistics • 82% or more of high school teachers actively used eSIS grade book by June of 2009. • More than ½ of the high schools had 80% or more of their teachers using grade book (20 out of 37). • Schools where principals have monitored teacher usage and provided in-house support opportunities are the most successful!
eSIS Grade Book Statistics • 52% or more of middle school teachers actively used eSIS grade book by June of 2009. • These teachers were not mandated to use the grade book, but used it voluntarily. • Wedgewood Park School had 100% of its teachers using eSIS grade book.
Accountability eMail Example… Mr. Teacher…. By now you are aware that all teachers are required to use eSIS Grade Book to record assignments and enter scores. According to a report received from Department of Technology, you are under-utilizing this valuable resource, which parents count on to monitor their student’s academic progress. If you need additional assistance in setting up your Grade Book preps or learning how to utilize the eSIS Grade Book features, there will be an on-site instructor available all day Thursday, October 23, in Room 206, who will tutor you in any area of eSIS Grade Book that may be causing some difficulty for you. Please take advantage of this learning opportunity so that you can improve your use of this valuable resource.
