DLP Protocol • QSTA-1 sends a DLP Action Request frame to be forwarded by AP if destination is present. • Else AP respond with DLP Action Response with status “Not Present” • Or with Status “Not Capable” if destination is a Legacy station. • Body format: DA,SA, Capability fields, <Supported rates+extended capability elements + …> • QSTA-2 responds with a DLP Action Response frame, to be forwarded by AP. • Frame Body is empty and Status “Denied” when station don’t want to be engaged in the DLP • Else: Action Status is “successful” and body format is: DA,SA, Capability fields, <Supported rates+extended capability elements + …> • A non-successful response will have a Action Body format: DA,SA Frames can all be encrypted
DLP cont’d • Following the “wake-up” sequence, the “Probing” mechanism is the initiators choice: • Stations can start direct data exchange. • Station is assumed to have provisions for dynamic rate and presence status changes. • Or a directed Probe Response. • Which may contain a (to be defined) arbitrary length “Information” element • And optional additional “Security Protocol” messages to be defined by TGi. • When encryption is enabled, then the DLP Action frames are assumed to be encrypted. • Stations stay awake for a “no-Activity” timeout period following the last transmitted frame. • Defined in the MIB as a 2 Byte value in Time Units (kus). • Default 500 TU
