Conference Objectives • Build on last year’s success with the Workshop to identify areas of Scientific Collaboration between the US and the AMPATH Service Area (NSF Award ANI-0123388) • Document the benefits of using AMPATH for scientific research and education.
Conference Objectives • Create an environment for AMPATH participants, potential participants and those with a regional, hemispheric or international interest in the project to exchange ideas, form new and solidify existing collaborations.
Conference Objectives • Provide an opportunity for researchers, educators and technologists from the US and the AMPATH Service Area to discuss and plan specific collaborations that can be facilitated by AMPATH
Conference Objectives • AMPATH Working Groups • Identify chairpersons from multiple AMPATH service area countries (whether connected or not right now) to volunteer • WGs centered around scientific and research disciplines such as: • Astronomy • Environment • Physics • Biology… • Coordinate activities with established WGs in the US and other regions

Deliverables • A report containing… • Short-term and long-term recommendations by a core group of U.S. research scientists with regard to the growth and utilization of the AMPATH project
Deliverables • A report containing… • Documentation describing how AMPATH establishes a foundation for the growth of research and education networking between the AMPATH Service Area countries, the US and the rest of the world, to benefit US science
