Activities • The core of the action was a widespread signature campaign to support a detailed set of urgent policy recommendations to combat human trafficking and forced prostitution We therefore urgently recommend that the German Federal Government and state Administrations do the following: - Provide economic assistance that specifically promotes economic independence…. - Provide local counseling and aid projects…. • 80.000 signatures – everysignaturescounts

Evaluation andResults • The 2006 Football World Cup was enormouspeacefulsummerparty • Most ofthewellfoundedfearsprecedingtheeventdid not in factmaterialise • Data frompoliceandministrysaidforcedprostitutiondidn‘tinscreaseduringthegames • Traffickingcouncellingcentersandhotlinesdidn‘tregisterhigherdemandsfortheirservicesduringthegameseither • The campaignsreachedmorethanmetoneoftheirmostimportantgoals, • namelytoraisepublicawarenessoftheproblem.

Somemoreconsiderations • Noinformationandfocus on trafficking in general – exploitationoflabour • Noinformationandfocus on childtrafficking – beggingchildren, pickpockingchildren • Security measureshavebeen so high thatcriminalsfaced a high risk • The sunnyweather (includingthepublicviewingeverywhere) hasbeenverysupportivefortheawarenesscampaignand also the high attendenceofyoungwomen • Keep in mind: prostitutionis legal in Germany
