Computer-Aided Management of Emergency Operations (CAMEO) • Free suite of software programs developed by NOAA and US EPA to aide planners and responders prepare for and deal with emergencies • Makes it easy to share information electronically with responding and planning agencies • CAMEOfmis a main element – a data management, relational database program containing Chemical Library, Reactivity Worksheet, Facilities and other modules

  3. Additional CAMEO SuiteComponents • Areal Locations Of Hazardous Atmospheres (ALOHA) - models air dispersions of toxic and flammable releases as of February 2006 • LandView- map information database of Census Bureau, US Geological Survey (USGS), and EPA data • Mapping Application for Response, PLanning and Operational Tasks (MARPLOT)- Digital map viewer software

  4. Tier2 Submit 2006 Released 11/06 • Free PC software developed by NOAA • and US EPA • Contains all data elements required by federal EPA reporting regulations, with additional state-required elements • Updated yearly with state elements, and compatibility with new version of CAMEOfm • CAMEOfm, ALOHA, and MARPLOT revised versions due out January 2007

  5. LSU CAMEO Classes National Center for Biomedical Research and Training Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education Louisiana State University • DHS-funded CAMEO WMD classes • Have LandView 5 files available on website -http://www.atlas.lsu.edu/landview5/ • Now developing Basic CAMEO course

  6. On-line Version of Chemical Library NOAA developing web-based version of CAMEOfm’s Chemical Library • Contains over 6000 chemicals • Has search functions, Reactivity Worksheet • Beta test version found at www.cameochemicals.noaa.gov • Logon required • User name = cameo • Password = test
