You may need to paraphrase the events of the scene. • Does one character use the word more frequently? If so, who? • Does the meaning change as different characters use it? • How does the word connect to the events in that scene? • What emotions does the speaker feel as he / she uses the word? • Is the word used in connection to a paradox? If so, explain.
Connect the themes, characters and ideas • Arranged around the room are the main characters in Macbeth • Your group will use yesterday’s work to add to each character poster. Each group will have 5 minutes to discuss and add to the character the words and concepts that relate to the listed character. • After 5 minutes each group will shift to the right and add information to the next poster. You may add to what the last group wrote down by drawing lines between ideas. • How does your word relate to each character? • How do other words posted by your peers relate to your word?
