  3. Work Search Requirements 3-5 Activities per Week Conducted on different days of the week 3-5

  4. Work Search Activities 9Suggested Work Search Activities Must do at least 1 of 3 activities a week from the top 5 activities listed

  5. Work Search Activities • #1) Using your Local Career Center and: • Meeting with Career Center Advisors • Receiving Job Market Information • Participating in Skills Assessments for Occupation • Matching • Participating in instructional workshops • Obtaining and Following Up with Employers on • Job Referrals and Job Matches from the Career • Center

  6. Work Search Activity #2 Visiting a job site and completing a job application in person with employers who may reasonably be expected to have openings.

  7. Work Search Activity #3 Submitting a job application and/or resume, in response to a public notice or want ad, or to employers who may reasonably be expected to have openings.

  8. Work Search Activity #4 Attending job search seminars, scheduled career networking meetings, job fairs, or employment-related workshops that offer instruction in improving individual skills for obtaining employment.

  9. Work Search Activity #5 Applying for employment with former employer(s). Interviewing with potential employers.

  10. Work Search Activity #6 Applying for employment with former employer(s).

  11. Work Search Activity #7 Registering with and checking in with private employment agencies, placement services, unions, and placement offices of schools, colleges or universities, and/or professional organizations.

  12. Work Search Activity #8 Using the telephone, business directories, internet, or online job matching systems to search for jobs, get leads, request referrals, or make appointments for job interviews.

  13. Work Search Activity #9 Applying and/or registering for and taking Civil Service examination(s) for government job openings.

  14. Keep Work Search Records

  15. Reasonable Travel • 60 minutes each way by car or • 90 minutes each way by bus

  16. Look for Suitable Work What is suitable work? Work for which you have previous experience and/or training paying within 90% of the prevailing wage rate for that occupation.

  17. What is Prevailing Wage? The current going rate, paid by employers for occupations in a labor market area.
