  2. Where lions live and what they eat Lions live in small parts of Africa. Lions are carnivore that means it eats only other animals. Lions live up to 30 years in captivity and have an average life span of 15 years in the wild. The lion is one of the four big cats in the genus Panthera and a member of the family Felidae.
