MOBILITY PROJECTSin the Tourism, Leisure Hospitality Department We have been involved in Initial Vocational Training mobility projects since 2005. Our first exchange project was in 2006-2007 . 9 catering students travelled to Szentendre Hungary for three weeks. Since then each year we have sent catering students to Hungary.

MOBILITY PROJECTSin Colaiste Ide Since 2011 we have included our Level 6 catering students the opportunity to be involved in our mobility project to Hungary. In 2007-2008 a second mobility project was created for our Tourism students. 10 Tourism students travelled to Kuressaare – Estonia.

MOBILITY PROJECTSin the Tourism, Leisure & Hospitality Dept In 2010 a different European country was selected as an alternative to Estonia. Work Placements included Malta International Airport, Malta Tourist Authority, travel agencies, five star spa hotels and beauty salons.

MOBILITY PROJECTSin Colaiste Ide In 2013 a new mobility project was introduced in the Art department. A total of 10 Art and Fashion students travelled to work in Florence, the heart of art culture in Europe. Our Art & Fashion students enjoyed the experience and by all accounts it was a tremendous success!

Colaiste Ide was included in the booklet launched by The National Agency (Leargas) on 13th October 2010 in the National College of Ireland, as part of it Life Long Learning Programme. The booklet was entitled ‘2010 European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion’. We are also been included in a study on the impact of mobility projects under Life Long Learning Programme. The study will be launched this November at a conference. We are currently ranked in the top five schools in Ireland providing mobility projects.
