Symptoms • Loss of balance • Muscle spasms • Strong urge to urinate • Facial pain • Hearing loss • Trouble chewing and swallowing • Problems walking
Treatment • Antidepressants for mood or behavior symptoms • Bowel retraining • A planned exercise program early in the course • Making changes around the home to prevent falls
Prevention • If you have MS, avoid overheating your body whenever possible. • Claims have been made that MS may be brought on by injury, shock, pregnancy, or vaccinations, but there is no scientific evidence to prove these claims.
