  2. Why ePortfolios • Digital copy student work • Document AYP • Alternate assessment portfolios • Teacher- Parent- Student collaboration • National Board Certification

  3. Increasing Writing • Students write more with electronic devices • Students are more engaged with electronic devices • Script/ cursive writing no longer taught • Fine motor skills issues- use speech- to- text • Students more apt to complete if they know it’s going into a portfolio

  4. Peer/ Teacher Buy- In • Shift in traditional paper storage • More open dialog- share work among colleagues • Deal with the “scary” and what- ifs

  5. Getting Student Buy- In • Like having control of what work is kept • Convenient • Easy to save work • More/ better accessibility • Good for organization • Able to access anywhere- if permission given • Take pride and ownership in work

  6. Getting Parent Buy- In • Can easily track progress • See what is happening in the classroom • Constant home- school contact • No more questions about what was turned in and what wasn’t
