  2. Data Archiving • What are the distinct functions of the various data archives / programs? • WOUDC -> EC • WDC – RSA –> DLR • WDC – GHG -> JMA • EUVDB -> FMI (regional database Europe) • NDACC • Synergy vs. competition

  3. Data Archiving • Function of IGACO – O3 with respect to assessing the functions the various databases. • IGACO - O3 does not include surface ozone. With increased interest in tropospheric processes and the need for better models should surface obs. be considered? • Who is responsible? who has authority? • Us, UV-SAG, Ozone-SAG, IGACO – O3 other WMO bodies -> • How do we link data centres (databases) in order to obtain ancillary data – ‘one-stop’ shopping? -> at the moment we have multiple number of proposals for ‘one-stop’ portals

  4. WOUDC • What do we want from the WOUDC? • Data types / limits • Quality assurance – types / ‘policing’ / flagging -> are these questions being answered by IGACO – O3 • Value-added products? • Data turn-around – both data ingest and output
