Our Mission In Art, we intend to provide opportunities to develop the visual aspect of learning, taking into account everyone’s individuality and particular needs.
Break the Ice! Observation Activity No: 1 “My Partners” (30 minutes) Everyone will team up with a partner and identify 4 prominent features about their personalities. Partners will then interact with each other to discuss their findings. This ice-breaker gets people to interact with a new person and helps everyone feel comfortable and part of the session. It also shows how observant we really are.
WHAT IS ART ? Art is a product or process of deliberately arranging symbolic elements in a way that influences and effects the senses, emotions and intellect.

Sketching & Shading • Sketching is the first step towards making any art work. • First sketch should be lightly drawn. Once the basic framework has been sketched you may proceed to draw a proper outline. • This is followed by shading as it gives a third dimension or depth to your drawing. 9
Different techniques of Shading • Light tone • Highlight • Shade • Reflected Light • Cast Shadow • Vertical Line Shading • Horizontal Line • Circle Line Shading 10
Let’s Sketch ! Activity No: 2 “Still Life” (40 minutes) • Now first Activity is that we are going to make different shades by pencil • Then we will do a Still Life • Every individual will be assigned an object for Still Life Sketching & Shading 12

How to apply Creativity & Creationin Art Lesson ? • Plan an art activity according to the level you are taking that develops both independence and collaboration by means of: • Drawing/Painting • Collage/Craft • Clay or any other medium (One in each medium) 17

HANDLING CLAY WITH STUDENTS • Students enjoy clay work a lot because at this age, they like building things with their hands • You can easily hand over clay to the students • Leave them free for at least 5-7 minutes and let them form whatever they want
TO MAKE IT USEFUL WITH NEW IDEAS • Ask children to form any character with clay for a start • We can create great displays with this form of art • Students can study seals of our old civilization which is Indus Valley Civilization • We can teach them to make different sculptures, toys & other things we have in Indus Civilization • Great Craft work can be done with students by using clay
