The ePortfolio Categories 4 Major Categories
Assessment • Completed at the beginning of each certificate cycle • Determines the type of Portfolio to be built • Developing Level or Mastery Level • All Participants MUST be on Mastery Level before certificate expiration
Professional Development • 10 hours ANNUALLY – each school year • Upload the PD forms issued to you • Sample activities: TestView, Odyssey, SMART Reponse, SMARTBoards, ThinkCentral, ePortfolio, etc.
Certificate Renewal Points (PER CERTIFICATE CYCLE) • 60 OF THE 120 points should be relevant to technology • You may need to review the District’s Certificate Renewal Matrix; NBCTs upload CR points every cycle = 10 years • 3 hr. graduate course = 60 points • Valid documentation includes transcripts, PD forms, or copy/paste from student .edu sites
Portfolio • You can “click” the category to determine the type of portfolio you will build • Your screen should look something like this:

Simply put… A technology-integrated lesson plan OR unit plan OR LRP**Choose ONLY one** ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. A student sample representing the lesson/unit/LRP (PPT, picture, screen shot, etc.) 3. An assessment used in the lesson/unit/LRP(quiz, checklist, rubric) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Developing Level • Upload 10 PD hours each school year & 60 Certificate Renewal Points per cycle. • Create a portfolio –--- approved • You will reassess with a goal score of 80+ • Once you score an 80+ you will create a Mastery Level Portfolio. You can either up the ante on your current lesson, or create an entirely new lesson.
How Can I Score 80+? Please remember you can get “locked” into the Developing Level Cycle -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • Attend school based technology workshops • Attend district-based technology workshops • Read and save the Monthly Technology Tips Newsletters (also on the Wiki) • Review and use information on the Wiki • Complete Coursework related to technology • Review Professional Literature • Use free resources such as Atomic Learning in ePortfolio and GCF http://www.gcflearnfree.org/
Mastery Level • Create a Mastery Level Portfolio --- approved • Upload 10 PD hours each school year & 60 Certificate Renewal Points per cycle.
Timeline for 2011 Expirations • Developing Level Portfolios complete before the end of December 2010 • Reassess before the end of January – score Mastery Level • Mastery Level Portfolio, PD hours, and CR points uploaded before the end of April 2011
