Empty Report Controlling Output When TABLE Request Retrieves Zero Records • ANSI • Produces a single-line report and displays the missing data character or a zero if a COUNT is requested. In each case, &RECORDS will be 0, and &LINES will be 1. • If the SQL Translator is invoked, ANSI automatically replaces OFF as the default setting for EMPTYREPORT. • ON • Produces an empty report (column headings with no content). This was the default behavior in prior releases. • OFF • Produces no report output. OFF is the default value except for SQL Translator requests. ANSI replaces OFF as the default setting for the EMPTYREPORT parameter, so the results are the same as for the ANSI setting.

LCWORD3 LCWORD3(length, string, output) The LCWORD3 function converts the letters in a character string to mixed-case by converting the first letter of each word to uppercase and converting every other letter to lowercase. In addition, a single quotation mark indicates that the next letter should be converted to uppercase as long as it is neither followed by a blank nor the last character in the input string.
LCWORD3 Example LCWORD3(length, string, output) DEFINE FILE EMPLOYEE MYVAL1/A10='O'CONNOR'S'; MYVAL2/A10='o'connor's'; LC1/A10 = LCWORD3(10, MYVAL1, 'A10'); LC2/A10 = LCWORD3(10, MYVAL2, 'A10'); END TABLE FILE EMPLOYEE SUM LAST_NAME NOPRINT MYVAL1 LC1 MYVAL2 LC2 END MYVAL1 LC1 MYVAL2 LC2 ------ --- ------ --- O'CONNOR'S O'Connor's o'connor's O'Connor's
