Projecting Future Mortality Using Information on Health Behaviors

This study evaluates past and current health behaviors like smoking, drinking, weight, and medication use to project future mortality rates in the US population. Findings stress the importance of risk factor control and improving therapy effectiveness to reduce mortality rates and enhance public health outcomes.

  27. Qualifications • Impact on mortality is not necessarily the same as impact on disability • Important for DI and Medicare/Medicaid forecasts
