That’s a whopping $160 for the trip – use it. • Other carriers will have similar plans. • Cellular-to-Cellular usually works. • Sometimes you may have to enter an escape code then the country code and then the number to call a local number – upon arrival we will get help on this aspect • WhatsApp – we will set up today.

Safety issues • Sunburn – Wear sunscreen • Natural Hazards – Earthquakes • Dengue Fever (Insect Borne) • Easter Island, but not yet on continental Chile. • Use insect repellent • Stray Dogs • Bites and scabies • Pick-pockets • Avoid political demonstrations • Rip-currents at the beaches • Be aware of the flag system to indicate relative swimming dangers

  13. medicine • Prescription Medicines – need proof of prescription • Recommend original pharmacy packaging (in YOUR NAME!!) • Bring only enough for the trip + 2 days (Esp. Adderall, Ritalin, and other psychotropic medicines) • If you have an epipen, you need to tell me (privatley) and have it with you and where you keep it. • OTC Medicines

  14. other • Pocket Knives • Technically Illegal (circa 2002). • Police have wide latitude to decide if what you have is a weapon • Suggest obtain locally, or if you must, a really puny swiss army knife.
