  2. Characters and Setting Open your books to page 52! As I begin to read a story, I think about who the author is telling about. This is probably the main character. Then when I read on , I think about what the character says and does, and I look for other characters. I also think about the setting of the story. T128

  4. Characters and Setting Stan wanted to do everything his older brother, Bill, did. Bill was playing catch on the playground with his friend Mike. They were throwing a football. “May I play?” Stan asked. “Sure, if you can catch it,” Bill said. He threw the ball high in the air. Stan ran and held his hands together. The ball landed right in his hands! “Nice catch,” Bill said. “You can join us.”
