MILITARY BRANCHES • Army – Largest branch; ground force… “Land dominance” • Navy- Primary blue water force… “Freedom of the Seas” • Marine Corps – Readiness force… “Win nations battles” • Air force- Primary air/space force… “Air, space, and cyberspace dominance” • Coast Guard- “Guardian” smallest service; defends maritime economy, environment, coastlines, rescue operations. • Reserve – “Reservist” 430K; normal rotations since 2003 • National Guard Forces- “Guardsman” oldest branch; Army and Air components…under Governor of State unless “Federalized”

UNCONQUERED VETERANS CAMPAIGN • PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: • Ease military to college transition • Identify/address challenges • Improve performance • Promote wellness • Increase campus awareness • Elevate retention rates • Assist in employment
FSU VETERAN FACTS • FSUSVC is a result of student veteran led request • Ribbon cutting at Pearl Tyner House 11-12-11 • Current staff of 5 • ROTC and veteran grads get honor cords and coins • Spring 2013: • 320 total student veterans • 68 female/252 male • Average age is 30 • Majority are upper division and graduate students
