Program Structure • Texas Pharmacy Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. North Carolina Pharmacy Technician Regulation • NCBOP must maintain a registry of pharmacy technicians • Techs must register within 30 days of employment in a pharmacy • Pharmacist cannot supervise more than two techs unless the additional techs have passed the PTCB exam • Definition of a certified pharmacy technician: passed the pharmacy technician certification board exam, or its equivalent

National Pharmacy Technician Certification Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) • http://www.ptcb.org • The Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination (PTCE) contains 90 questions in three job function areas. 80 questions are graded. 1. Assisting the pharmacist (66%) 2. Maintaining medication and inventory control systems (22% ) 3.
