Offensive / Insulting / Abusive Language • Not just swear words • Bear in mind natural reactions , but do not ignore it • Stronger action when players are insulting / abusive to each other • Definite dismissal for • Abusive language towards a referee / assistant • Racial abuse towards anyone • Remember you cannot caution for foul language

  4. Summary • Your Control depends on how well you deal with language problems • Ignoring bad language leads to a ‘rising tide’ of dissent / foul language • Take appropriate action • Remember to include actual words in any report
