DPEHiggs and EDDE: UpdatesCreighton Hogg Recently Monika and I received the latest version of the DPEHiggs generator, from hereon referred to as EDDE. Xi distribution for first proton of EDDE (left) and DPEHiggs (right) The xi distribution is much smoother in EDDE.
The Higgs pz distribution is much narrower in EDDE than it is in DPEHiggs. There is no tail extending to >5.5 TeV.
The Higgs mass for EDDE (left) and DPEHiggs (right) The left plot has had a cut M_H < 150 GeV applied to isolate the peak. The left plot is actually an overlay of two samples. One with a Higgs mass of 115 set in the datacard and one with a mass of 300 set in the datacard. In both the mass peaks around 55 GeV.
This is the Higgs mass distribution for the EDDE generator as calculated from the approximate formula relating the xi’s of the protons with M_H.
px and py distributions for the b-quark the Higgs decays into. EDDE is on the left and DPEHiggs is on the right.
The sum of the pz’s for the two b-quarks coming from the Higgs. In EDDE they are uniformly produced with equal and opposite pz.
Conclusions: The xi distribution in EDDE looks to be an improvement over the DPEHiggs generator; however, there seem to be some issues relating to the mass distribution of the Higgs and the momentum distribution of the decay products.
