All about Mrs. Benge… My Background • Graduated from St. Teresa’s Academy in 2002 • I received my bachelors in elementary education from The University of Missouri and my masters degree in curriculum and instruction through the MU fellowship program My experience • This is my 10th year teaching 3rd grade at SPE. Third grade is the BEST!!! • I love teaching and helping students grow personally and academically. I am excited to share my love and enthusiasm with you and your child! My Family I have two sisters, one brother, and 6 nieces. I recently got married to my husband Matt on April 25th, 2014! The past few months have been super new and exciting for me. 

  8. Planner and PUMA Folder • CHECK PUMA FOLDER DAILY • Homework • Monday –two sides skill sheet goes home-math skill and ELA skill. This will be due on Thursday of the same week • Reading Log-EVERY NIGHT (requires a parent signature) • No homework will result in a Responsibility Think Ticket. • SIGN PLANNER DAILY • Superb way to interact with your child and know what they are learning Teaches your child responsibility for the future

  9. Friday Folder • Please read and return the signed progress report on Monday in your child’s Friday Folder. • Great source of communication between your family and me • Look for school information, field trip information, etc. • Weekly grade, behavior update

  11. What is PBS? (Positive Behavior Supports) • All students and staff are taught school wide expectations with regular and frequent opportunities to practice them and be acknowledged when they use them. • Interactions between students and staff focus on positive as opposed to negative reinforcement • Staff uses data to make decisions regarding school behavior expectations • A PBS school provides consistent rewards and interventions for all students • Rewards will be an ongoing stage that may change depending on what our school needs.

Tickets and Rewards • Think Tickets • Responsibility Tickets-homework, planner signed • Re-Think Think Tickets-behavior • PUMA Time- popsicles, snack and read, movie or etc….-your child can earn puma time if they do not have more than 2 responsibility/think sheets during that • week • Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about homework- I am here to HELP your child receive these special rewards 

How can my child earn reward tickets? • planner signed (1) • reading log signed each day (1) • HW brought back on Thursday(2) • Friday Folder brought back on Monday (1) • Forms/slips returned on time (1) • 10-50 Tickets for reward incentives- candy, treasure box, helping another student or etc…..(these will change as the students show interests in other rewards)
